It is the first of the month in which the troubled Zainab had to wander bare headed
MASHKEEZAH SAKINA KA LIYE NAHER PA AAKE, SHAANON KO KATA KE
It is the first of the month in which the valiant Abbas got martyred
JIS MAAH MEIN MAARE GAEY ABBASE DILAAWAR, USKI HAI YAKUM AAJ
getting his arms severed while bringing Sakina’s waterskin from the river
BA’ADE RUFAQAA QATL KE MAIDAAN MEIN AAKE, BARCHI KI ANI SE
It is the first of the month in which the Prophet’s likeness got martyred
